# Lofoten Links hole 2 — geographic reference assets

Prepared 2026-09-06. No Site/project files were modified. No synthetic factual imagery was created.

## Integration-ready assets

- `hole02-terrain-1m.json`: raw Kartverket DTM1, bilinearly sampled into a 441×501 grid aligned to shot direction, centimeter integer elevations, x0=-220m, z0=-350m, spacing1m. Row-major; columns increase x, rows increase z. Elevations absolute NN2000 meters after dividing by100. Grid local origin = mapped rear tee. All samples valid; ocean is often interpolated near0, not bathymetry.
- `hole02-vectors-local.json`: OpenStreetMap coastline, green, bunker, tees, other nearby mapped features in same local metre coordinates. Explicit tags and source IDs. Green ID699712468; bunker699712467; hole line699712470. Some other features belong to neighboring holes.
- `hole02-terrain-crop.tif`: source-resolution bounding crop, EPSG25833.
- `nearby-terrain-25m.json` / `.tif`: public Kartverket WCS 7×7km crop,280×280 nodes. Native UTM33 rather than shot-aligned; metadata has origin and frame vectors. Contains Hoven (~363m sampled high point).
- `regional-terrain-100m.json` / `.tif`: 80×80km regional DEM,800×800; actual mountain positions for distant vistas.
- `horizon-profile-0.5deg.json`: 720 angular bins from regional100m DEM, viewpoint rear tee11.5m NN2000; angle0 points along shot, positive right. Height angles include Earth curvature but not atmospheric refraction. Intended as geometric reference; may miss narrow peaks at100m sampling.
- `green-terrain-analysis.json`: green plane and center profile from raw grid.
- `terrain-vector-QA.png`: internal factual vector/DEM alignment diagram.
- `hole02-guide.png`: official course diagram, reference only; no open redistribution license found.

## Coordinate facts

OSM rear tee WGS84 lon14.1290312, lat68.3430185; green lon14.1269389,lat68.3440576. Geodesic distance144.445m; UTM distance144.38949m. Bearing323.36017deg true (northwest). Green is local(0,-144.38949); x is right from shot, z is backward. Origin UTM33(E464130.0061843821,N7581362.002448598).

Official longest tee is138m. OSM line is an approximate digitized location and can differ from the actual tee marker. To present a138m shot while preserving measured geometry, place the player6.38949m forward from mapped origin (raw z=-6.38949), or equivalently shift all raw coordinate z by+6.38949. This is a game setup assumption, not a newly verified surveyed tee coordinate. Do not scale the world.

Raw rear-tee terrain10.3457m; raw green center3.6544m. Approximately6.69m downhill. Green polygon ~20.59m lateral×20.43m along shot (official schematic green depth19m). Bunker center(-0.297,-129.092), extent3.724×4.354m. Bunker center terrain~2.14m; front lip/green at z=-134 is~3.45m.

Best-fit green plane RAW frame:
`h = -0.02553479341*x -0.01836208251*z +0.97049150583`.
3.15% slope magnitude; down toward right and short. Green height3.21–4.03m; residual RMS4.09cm, residual min/max-11.16/+8.46cm. Already smooth at1m DTM; applying huge smoothing would remove real break. Plane intercept needs adjustment if local z shifts.

## Geographic backdrop

The view straight toward hole2 is primarily OPEN SEA. Regional DTM finds substantial mountains far left around shot-relative-70deg (~4.6deg elevation,7.1km distant). Central forward±50deg has no substantial mountain wall. Tiny distant land at+59deg is about0.27deg above horizon,42km distant. Hoven's sampled apex local x=-1574.39,z=+527.75,h=363.4m: behind left from tee, NOT behind green.

Green, bunker and hole line last edited2019-06-25. Coastline source tags explicitly say Kartverket N50, source date1968-06-01, with later OSM edits2025-01-25. This coastline is coarse/historical and must not be presented as meter-accurate tide/rock edge. DEM and official photographs provide better local shelf context.

Official lengths138/134/111/97m for tees61/55/48/42, all par3. Diagram gives19m green depth and129m front from base datum, bunker127m. Official description explains rock-protected islet, open sea to north, double white beach/waste bunker short. Diagram depicts slender grass/path spine between beaches. No right to redistribute club photography/diagram was established; use as research reference, not bundled game texture.

No verified reusable photographic panorama from the actual tee was obtained. Kartverket current terms permit screenshots from norgeskart.no/norgeibilder.no when credited, but bulk detailed imagery copying has additional rights constraints; none was downloaded here.

RECONSTRUCTION NOTES
This is an independent playable reconstruction, not an official Lofoten Links product.
The 2017 terrain and 2019 mapped green do not establish current survey accuracy.
The putting surface follows the measured 3.15% best-fit plane; exact small breaks
are unverified. Tee stance is locally leveled and the playing marker is shifted
6.389m forward to produce the official 138m shot. Rocks, grass, sky, water, and
lighting are authored visual details. Tide and seabed are approximations.
