Why go

Your back nine has a racetrack around it.

Some golf courses ask for quiet. This one shares an address with the Indianapolis 500.

Brickyard Crossing sends four of its eighteen holes into the infield of Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The rest sit outside the circuit. Pete Dye’s redesign made the racing venue part of the round, rather than something golfers merely pass on the way in.

Four holes inside the speedway

The routing takes golf into the Indianapolis Motor Speedway infield. The other fourteen holes make this a full round, not a novelty putting stop.

More of the story

The contrast is wonderfully strange: a small ball, a considered swing, and grandstands built for an entirely different kind of concentration. Even without a car on track, the scale of the place changes how a golf hole feels.

This is one to send to the friend who watches racing as closely as golf. The appeal is being inside a sporting landmark while doing something its television audience rarely sees. You are still keeping a scorecard. The setting gives everyone a different story to tell.

Make it happen

How to play Brickyard Crossing

  1. Book through Brickyard Crossing and check the speedway calendar for your date.
  2. Confirm golf availability on event days. A round here is a golf reservation; ask separately about any race access you want.

Before you go

Choose deliberately between a normal course day and the atmosphere of an event period; the rates differ.

A playing thought

Give yourself a moment to take in the infield before setting up. Once over the ball, pick a normal target and let the racetrack be the backdrop.
