Our editorial approach

Every pin earns its place.

Heckler Atlas is an independent collection of golf experiences with a story worth sharing. We choose places for what makes them distinctive: an unusual landscape, a surprising ritual, or a different way to spend a round together.

We research through course operators, tourism organisations and identified reporting. We link the sources on every profile, distinguish destination photographs from specific hole views, and keep recommendations separate from a promise of current access. The collection is curated; it is not a ranking of every course in the world.

Atlas is produced by Heckler’s editorial team. These are researched guides, not claims that our team has personally played every course. No featured course paid for inclusion in this first collection. No course affiliation is implied.

Corrections and suggestions are welcome at hello@heckler.golf. Profiles were researched on September 12, 2026. Check booking details with the operator before travel.

Photography

These photographs are shared under the licences credited below. Our display versions are resized and may be cropped to fit. The original source and its licence remain available for each image; no claim is made to original U.S. Government works; Creative Commons ShareAlike requirements continue to apply to the relevant image adaptations.

Map and saved places

Map data and tiles: © OpenStreetMap contributors. Map display uses Leaflet. Map requests go to OpenStreetMap; its privacy policy applies. Saved places are private to your verified Heckler account and appear in your Clubhouse. Earlier browser-only saves can be imported after signing in. Our privacy policy explains optional analytics.
