Why go

A strip of fairway. A great deal of sea.

Some courses offer a sea view. At Nefyn, the land seems to be negotiating how much room golf really needs.

Nefyn’s golf extends across the northern coast of the Llŷn Peninsula. Its old peninsula holes occupy the especially memorable part of the property: a narrow headland where coast, paths and playing ground sit close together.

The booking detail that matters

The famous peninsula and the standard booked round are different arrangements. If the Point is your reason to come, establish that before building a trip around it.

More of the story

The attraction is the feeling of venturing out. Water keeps appearing at the edge of your attention, even when you would rather focus on a small patch of fairway. The contours of the coast give each turn a different outlook.

A visit deserves time beyond the scorecard. Porthdinllaen and its sheltered bay are part of the surrounding landscape, and the contrast between the exposed headland and the shore below is a large part of the place’s appeal.

Make it happen

How to play Nefyn

  1. Book the Championship 18 through the club’s visitor portal.
  2. The Point 9 is an optional free extra, subject to availability on the day. Contact the pro shop about access; the peninsula is not guaranteed by an ordinary tee-time booking.

Before you go

Leave room in the day for the extra nine if available, and for changing coastal weather.

A playing thought

On the exposed holes, favor a comfortable target and a controlled flight. Wait for shared paths to clear before playing.
