Availability: paid competitions are not currently offered. These terms describe the framework for a future paid service. They apply to an entry only when Heckler opens an eligible event with complete Official Rules, payment disclosures and your affirmative acceptance. No money is accepted through this page.

1. Scope and event contract

These terms supplement the Heckler Terms of Service for an official paid browser-golf competition that you personally enter. Your own golf performance determines your competitive result under the published scoring rules. You are entering a contest, not buying a guaranteed return. You can lose your entire entry price. Friends may compete against each other only through the official flow; a private invitation does not make either player a payment agent or exempt an event from law.

The event's Official Rules and entry summary identify its format, operator, permitted jurisdictions, entry deadline, start/end, number of entrants, course and scoring configuration, total entry price, organizer fee, prize source and amount, ranking/ties, refunds, validation and payout process. Review these documents before accepting. We provide an entry receipt and retain the accepted versions. Each new event or rematch needs a new affirmative entry; there is no automatic re-entry, rebuy or increase in your stake.

An event is not open merely because you can see it. Registration, payment and play require the eligibility and verification checks below. If a legal restriction conflicts with a listing, we will stop the affected entry and apply the refund/void procedure. “Void where prohibited” does not transfer our obligation to operate lawfully to you.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 21; have one verified account in your own identity; be physically located in an enabled U.S. jurisdiction when required for entry and play; satisfy any residence restrictions in the Official Rules; and pass required identity, location, payment and integrity checks. The event's allowed jurisdictions are a specific list maintained for that format. An enabled free game or another event's eligibility does not establish eligibility for this event.

Do not use a VPN, proxy, spoofed location, remote desktop, another person's credentials or another person's payment account to bypass checks. An ordinary privacy tool is not evidence of cheating by itself, but if we cannot establish eligibility we cannot accept paid entry. A phone number's area code, mailing address, invitation from a friend or member pass is not sufficient proof of current location or age.

Employees, contractors, event administrators and anyone with nonpublic information or control that creates an unfair advantage, and members of their households, may not enter for prizes. Do not enter while excluded or under a cooling-off restriction. Extra exclusions, if any, must appear in the Official Rules before entry.

3. Pool funding and independent prizes

In an entrant-funded pool, the entry summary separately states the amount contributed to prizes and the organizer fee. For example, two $5 entries may fund a $9 prize and $1 total organizer fee. A sponsor addition or operator guarantee does not change the fact that this is an entrant-funded pool.

In a paid independent-prize event, the Official Rules identify an independently committed prize and a separately priced participation service. The prize obligation does not vary with entry revenue or entrant count. The rules identify the responsible prize obligor, sponsor and any funding conditions that must be satisfied before entries open. We will not describe entrant money as independent sponsorship.

Free sponsor events use their own rules. A subscription, required deposit, paid retry, required advertising engagement or paid competitive advantage cannot be hidden behind a “free” label. Referral-earned attempts require express rules and separate review; they are not part of the default equal-attempt format.

4. Price, payment and money handling

The entry screen shows the complete amount to be charged, including any mandatory fee or applicable tax. No undisclosed processing or payout fee will be deducted. Only use a payment method you are authorized to use, accepted for the event in your own name. We do not extend credit or authorize borrowing through the service.

Your payment authorization is for the stated event and amount. A pending authorization may be released if entry fails; a captured payment is refunded under these terms. The receipt identifies the transaction and status so you can distinguish an authorization from a completed charge. We do not start the contest until required participant funding is confirmed under the event's accepted payment arrangement.

The event payment disclosure identifies the payment collector, the holder of funds and its legal role, the payout provider, the destination of each money component and links to the applicable provider terms. Any reserve, safeguard or insolvency treatment must be described accurately. We do not promise escrow, a trust account, pass-through deposit insurance or protection from business creditors without the legal arrangement that supports that statement.

When enabled, the service accepts payment for one specific contest and returns refunds/awards through its approved payment arrangement. It does not offer a reusable player balance, cash-transfer feature or redeemable gameplay currency. The Apple Wallet member pass has no monetary balance. No unclaimed award turns into an expiring promotional credit or company revenue merely through account inactivity.

5. Playing and scoring

The event freezes the course, holes, equipment, physics/scoring version, conditions, attempt count, permitted aids, timing and tie procedure before play. Everyone receives the same disclosed competitive configuration and access to the permitted practice format. No paid extra attempt or paid performance advantage is allowed within the initial formats. Do not automate competitive input, collude, deliberately lose, share an account or manipulate a result.

Only accepted server records under the event rules count; the result remains provisional during validation. That does not make an erroneous server record immune from correction. We examine reports and available telemetry consistently. Random selection, a coin flip, earlier signup time, higher spending and a paid extra attempt will not break a competitive tie. The Official Rules specify a bounded skill playoff or equal sharing of the affected cash prize positions.

6. Disconnects, forfeits and technical failures

For live events, the reconnect allowance is 120 seconds from the server's recorded connection loss. Reconnection resumes the recorded state and does not grant new attempts. Individual connection loss after a valid start can result in a forfeit or DNF after that allowance, as stated in the event rules. Deliberate quitting is not a right to a refund after seeing an unfavorable result.

We investigate a reported platform fault separately from an individual connection problem. Where a Heckler failure, corrupted event state or material inequality prevents a reliable fair result, we may resume safely under the unchanged rules or void the affected contest. We will not invent a winner from unreliable data. An operator technical void returns the entire entry price, including the organizer fee and other mandatory charges, to each affected entrant. A replacement contest requires fresh acceptance; a voucher or forced replay does not replace the refund.

7. Cancellation and refunds

CircumstanceTreatment
Entry rejected, other friend never completes entry, required participant count not met, or funding fails before a valid startRelease an authorization or refund the full captured amount. No organizer fee is earned.
You cancel before the displayed entry lockFull entry refund. The event cannot start until the accepted roster and funding conditions are satisfied.
Valid event has locked and you voluntarily withdraw, lose, miss play or forfeit for an individual connection failureGenerally no refund unless law or a verified platform fault requires one. The disclosed ranking/forfeit rules apply.
Heckler cancels, materially changes an accepted event without your renewed agreement, or declares an operator technical voidFull entry refund including the organizer fee.
Duplicate, incorrect or unauthorized chargePrompt investigation and correction/refund where appropriate; statutory and provider dispute rights remain intact.
Disqualification for substantiated cheating after a valid startNo prize for the disqualified entry; ordinarily no entry refund for the delivered competition. Reallocate affected prizes under the accepted rules. No unrelated funds are confiscated as a penalty.
Entry accepted in error from an ineligible personStop participation, investigate and return funds where required/legally permitted. Do not award an unlawful prize or retain an automatic operator windfall. Obtain a lawful resolution for the affected contest.

We initiate an approved refund within five business days of the refund decision, unless a specific legal restriction prevents it. The approved provider's refund arrival estimate is shown before entry; bank processing can take additional time. If the original method is unavailable, we arrange an approved, verified alternative without requiring another deposit. We notify you of a delay, its reason where lawful and the next review date.

8. Result review and awards

We aim to complete ordinary result validation within three business days after the event ends. The Official Rules specify when provisional results are posted and where a notice appears. Submit an ordinary scoring protest within 48 hours after that notice with the event reference and issue. Hidden fraud or a platform error discovered later can still be investigated; the protest period does not waive statutory rights.

If verification, fraud or a payment problem requires a hold, we identify the affected event/amount and explain the reason to the extent lawful. We request only relevant evidence, keep unrelated undisputed funds outside the hold where possible and update you at least every seven calendar days. We aim for a determination within 30 calendar days; a longer hold requires a documented reason and a new review date, not an unexplained indefinite freeze.

When a disqualification affects ranking, remaining eligible entrants move up under the original objective ranking and prize allocation. If no lawful reliable ranking remains, apply the void/refund procedure. Heckler does not keep unawarded pool money merely because a player was disqualified.

We do not finalize an affected award before the ordinary 48-hour protest window closes and any timely material protest is resolved. After the result is final and necessary identity/tax checks are complete, we initiate payout within five business days, using the method and provider arrival estimate disclosed before entry. The recipient must be the verified entrant. There is no new deposit or prize-claim fee. Required withholding is disclosed and documented. If we cannot contact a winner or complete verification, we send reasonable reminders and follow the accepted event rules and applicable unclaimed-property law. There is no automatic forfeiture based solely on missing a short email response deadline.

9. Appeals and payment disputes

You may appeal a contest disqualification, refund denial or funds hold at hello@heckler.golf within 14 calendar days of the decision. Give the event reference and reasons; we aim to respond within 14 calendar days with a review by a person other than the original decision-maker where feasible. We explain a delay and preserve your right to use legal or provider remedies. We protect other players' private information and confidential anti-fraud methods while giving a meaningful explanation.

You may dispute a transaction with your provider as permitted by law and its terms. Contacting Heckler first is helpful but not required to preserve those rights. A good-faith complaint or chargeback does not automatically prove fraud or trigger a fee. We may temporarily restrict new paid entry while a material payment problem is investigated. We will not obtain double recovery through both a reversed payout/refund and collection for the same obligation.

10. Taxes, results and changes

Prizes may be taxable whether or not a tax form is issued. You are responsible for your tax obligations; Heckler or its designated payer will perform required reporting and withholding. We may require secure tax certification before a reportable payout. We do not collect tax forms through ordinary chat or email, and do not promise that a particular prize threshold is tax-free.

The event may display your public player name, score, rank and award amount as stated before entry. A separate optional permission is needed for your photograph, testimonial or advertising endorsement. Sponsors do not receive your mobile marketing consent through event entry.

Rules are prospective and versioned. We may close future availability when law or provider requirements change, while resolving accepted entries under lawful refund and settlement procedures. The Terms of Service dispute provisions apply without removing the specific entry/refund/award obligations here.
